Mission

The Council promotes an academic and social environment at KU that recognizes, respects, advocates and celebrates the great value of Native peoples and our unique perspectives in higher education.

Contact Us

Initiatives:

We seek to focus on initiatives specifically related to the well-being of the University of Kansas’ Native Faculty and Staff, including but not limited to:

  1. Creating and sustaining an active Native community at the University of Kansas that celebrates achievements, acknowledges milestones, represents concerns and provides advocacy for community members when needed;

  2. Creating an environment which attracts, welcomes, and retains Native faculty, staff, and students;

  3. Developing effective, ethical, innovative, respectful, and culturally appropriate partnerships with our tribal communities and Haskell Indian Nations University; and,

  4. Improving the career pipeline for faculty and staff at KU.
